Financial Controller | Manufacturing | Up to £80,000 + Bonus

Pearson Carter is working with a leading UK manufacturing business to support the recruitment of a commercially focused Financial Controller. This is a senior, hands-on role covering two high-performing production sites.

As a key member of the site leadership teams, you will lead the finance function, provide insight to drive operational performance, and ensure strong financial governance across all areas of the business.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced finance professional to step into a pivotal role with visibility, autonomy, and impact.

• Full ownership of month-end processes and reporting

• Manage forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis

• Deliver financial performance reporting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis

• Lead cost accounting, inventory control, and analysis of production variances

• Ensure full compliance with internal controls, group policies, VAT and SOX requirements

• Present financial data clearly to operational and senior management teams

• Lead financial audits and support statutory reporting

• Oversee capital expenditure processes and associated accounts

• Continuously improve internal procedures and reporting systems

• Lead and develop a small finance team across multiple sites

• Fully qualified accountant – ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent)

• Experienced in a manufacturing or engineering environment

• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and production finance

• Experience with SOX compliance, VAT, and statutory reporting

• Proven track record of working closely with operations and non-finance stakeholders

• Skilled in Excel and financial systems, with an ability to develop and improve reporting tools

• Experience leading and developing a finance team

• Up to £80,000 depending on experience

This is a site-based role across two manufacturing locations in the UK (within commutable distance of South Yorkshire and Greater Manchester). Flexibility in site attendance is provided, but on-site presence is required 5 days a week.
