They are investing heavily in their trading infrastructure and are looking for an experienced engineering leader to drive the next generation of low-latency market connectivity across multiple asset classes and international exchanges.

The Role

As Head of Trading Infrastructure, you will lead the architecture, development and evolution of the firm’s global exchange connectivity platform. You’ll be responsible for building a scalable and reusable framework that supports market data ingestion, order entry and historical market data across multiple exchanges and asset classes.

Working closely with Trading, Quant Research, Risk and Infrastructure teams, you’ll define the technical direction of a business-critical platform while leading a team of high-calibre engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy and technical direction for the firm’s exchange connectivity platform.
• Design and deliver scalable feed handler and order gateway frameworks across global markets.
• Build a standardised architecture that supports rapid onboarding of new exchanges and asset classes.
• Drive improvements across latency reliability scalability and system performance.
• Establish quality standards for live and historical market data ensuring consistency across production research and simulation environments.
• Work closely with trading research infrastructure and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team through hiring mentoring and technical leadership.
• Own engineering best practices architecture reviews and delivery standards.
• Collaborate with external exchanges market data providers and connectivity partners.

About You

• Extensive experience building low-latency trading infrastructure within a quantitative trading firm market maker exchange or financial institution.
• Strong background designing exchange connectivity including feed handlers market data platforms and order entry gateways.
• Expert knowledge of modern C and performance-critical software development.
• Deep understanding of network protocols concurrency memory management and latency optimisation.
• Experience leading engineering teams and delivering large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of market data architecture exchange protocols and trading system design.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across engineering trading and research teams.
