Pearson Carter are currently working with a leading PropTech organisation that is transforming the property market through innovative digital solutions and cutting-edge technology. Due to continued growth and investment across its engineering function, the business is looking to appoint a Lead Backend Engineer to help drive the development of its platform and lead one of its product-focused engineering squads.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend services and microservices.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to engineers within the squad.
• Drive architectural decisions, code quality, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Contribute to cloud infrastructure, AI integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience:

• Strong experience with C#, .NET Core, .NET Web API, and Microservices architectures.
• Experience with Azure cloud technologies, API development, and message-based systems.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience working in Agile environments and using unit testing frameworks such as xUnit or nUnit.
• Familiarity with React, React Native, and modern development tooling.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM technologies such as OpenAI or Azure OpenAI.

Desirable:

• Experience with TDD, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Previous team leadership or mentoring experience.
• Exposure to Agentic AI frameworks and Azure DevOps pipelines.

Salary:
Salary is from £60-80k dependent on whether you are as Senior or Lead developer and experience.

Location:
This role offers a hybrid working model from their office in London.
