    SQL Developer

    Pearson Carter are currently working with a growing technology-focused organisation that is looking to strengthen its data engineering capability through the appointment of an experienced SQL Developer.

    Responsibilities:

    • Optimise and troubleshoot complex T-SQL queries, execution plans, and database performance across large datasets.
    • Design and maintain indexing strategies, database schemas, and data integrity standards.
    • Investigate and resolve production issues including blocking, deadlocks, and slow-running queries.
    • Support database deployments and collaborate with engineering teams to improve data access and system scalability.

    Experience:

    • Strong commercial experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, query optimisation, and performance tuning.
    • Deep understanding of execution plans, indexing, transactions, isolation levels, and database design.
    • Experience diagnosing blocking, deadlocks, and other performance-related issues within production environments.
    • Proven track record working on business-critical systems with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Desirable:

    • Experience with large-scale databases, ETL processes, or batch data processing.
    • Familiarity with Query Store, Extended Events, DMVs, and other SQL monitoring tools.
    • Experience working alongside backend development teams and cloud platforms such as Azure SQL.

    Salary:

    Salary is dependent on experience and can go up to the £60k.

    Location:

    This role offers a hybrid working model based in Maidstone 3 times a week.
