Systems Engineer

Pearson Carter are working with a global technology consultancy that delivers enterprise infrastructure and security solutions for large international organisations. Their work spans cloud, networking, cybersecurity, systems engineering and managed services, with teams collaborating across Europe, the US and other global regions.

Responsibilities:

• Deploy and configure enterprise systems across complex infrastructure environments.
• Work closely with Project Managers and technical teams to design and implement the most effective infrastructure solutions.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot infrastructure and systems-related issues.
• Configure and maintain networking technologies including firewalls, load balancers, micro-segmentation and DMZ environments.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using scripting tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Support containerised environments using Kubernetes, with exposure to OpenShift being beneficial.
• Manage Windows and Linux server environments.
• Administer and support VMware virtualisation platforms.
• Ensure infrastructure aligns with cybersecurity best practices and security requirements.

Experience:

• Proven experience in a Systems Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer position.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts including firewalls, load balancers, DMZs and micro-segmentation.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience supporting Windows, Linux and VMware environments.
• Knowledge of OpenShift is desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work across multiple technical disciplines.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working with global teams.

They offer a competitive daily pay rate, dependent on experience.

Location

This is a remote position supporting teams across Europe, so candidates must be able to work standard GMT/CET business hours. The client is open to applications from across Europe and India.
