Systems Software Engineer (FTC), Highly Competitive Salary

A fast-growing cyber security training platform with over 5 million users globally is seeking a Systems Software Engineer to join their team on a fixed-term contract. The company is focused on making cyber security education more accessible through gamified, hands-on training, and they’re looking for a talented engineer to help build and scale core system-level components.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain a Linux kernel module and Windows user-mode agent, both written in Go
• Work within a cross-functional product squad (engineers, designer, product manager)
• Implement monitoring for processes, filesystems, and network activity
• Contribute to full system-level debugging, tracing, and automation

Experience:

• Strong experience with Go (Golang) in production environments
• Knowledge of Linux kernel modules, eBPF, syscalls, and system internals
• Practical experience with Windows internals and building Windows services/agents in Go
• Familiarity with packet capture tools (e.g. Npcap/WinPcap, pcap/eBPF)
• Experience with system-level debugging (logs, dumps, perf, ftrace, ETW, Procmon)
• Comfortable working with automation tools and system configs (YAML, PowerShell, Bash)
• Solid understanding of networking protocols, concurrency, and resource management
• Bonus: Background in CTFs or cyber security challenges

Salary

Highly competitive, dependent on experience.

Location

Fully Remote – work from anywhere. Flexible hours with at least 4 hours overlap with GMT between 8am–6pm
