Cloud Engineer

Were seeking a Cloud Engineer with 5 years of experience working across AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms to join a global Information Technology team.

Youll work across time zones with digital and technology teams to design, implement and maintain scalable, secure and highly available cloud infrastructure.

This is a hands-on role supporting cloud migration, infrastructure optimisation, security and best practices across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.

The Role

As a Cloud Engineer, you will:

Design, deploy and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.

Build and maintain secure network solutions including VPCs/VNets, subnets, routing and connectivity.

Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls, security groups and other security controls.

Maintain and improve Infrastructure-as-Code using AWS CDK and TypeScript.

Monitor system performance, availability and security using cloud-native and third-party tools.

Support cloud migration and hybrid cloud strategies.

Design and maintain secure connectivity including VPN, site-to-site VPN, Direct Connect and ExpressRoute.

Maintain infrastructure supporting CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions runners and deployment environments.

Support vulnerability remediation and security response activities.

Troubleshoot cloud, networking and firewall issues.

Support infrastructure used for web applications and on-premises software distribution.

What Were Looking For

Youll bring:

5 years of hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure.

Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash or PowerShell.

Solid understanding of cloud security principles.

Strong knowledge of cloud networking including VPCs, VNets, subnets, routing tables and DNS.

Hands-on experience with firewalls and security controls such as Palo Alto, AWS Security Groups, NACLs and Azure NSGs.

Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools.

Experience designing secure network connectivity, including VPNs, private endpoints and hybrid networking.

Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins or Azure DevOps.

Good understanding of monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor or Prometheus.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with teams across different disciplines and time zones.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.

5 years working with AWS and/or Azure.

Proven hands-on cloud networking experience.

Experience managing firewalls and cloud security controls.

Infrastructure-as-Code experience.

Experience with secure network connectivity and hybrid cloud environments.

Experience supporting CI/CD infrastructure.

Desirable

AWS Certified Solutions Architect and/or Microsoft Azure Administrator/Architect certification.

Experience with zero-trust, network segmentation and private networking.

Multi-cloud or hybrid cloud experience.

Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments.
