Senior Cloud Engineer AWS and Azure

Brisbane, Queensland Up to 180,000 Super

Pearson Carter is partnering with a globally recognised design and consulting organisation to appoint an experienced Cloud Engineer to its Brisbane technology team.

This role will see you build and maintain secure, scalable cloud environments across AWS and Azure while contributing to major migration and modernisation programs. You will work locally in Brisbane while collaborating with technical teams across multiple countries and time zones.

What You Will Be Doing

Design, deploy and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.

Develop secure networking solutions using VPCs, VNets, subnets, routing, DNS, VPNs and private connectivity.

Configure firewalls, security groups and broader cloud security controls.

Build and improve Infrastructure-as-Code using AWS CDK and TypeScript.

Support cloud migration and platform modernisation projects.

Maintain CI/CD infrastructure and deployment processes.

Monitor cloud environments, troubleshoot technical issues and improve system reliability.

Collaborate with local and international engineering teams.

What We Are Looking For

At least five years of commercial cloud engineering experience across AWS and/or Azure.

Strong knowledge of cloud networking, including VPCs, VNets, routing, DNS and hybrid connectivity.

Experience managing firewalls and network security controls, ideally Palo Alto.

Hands-on Infrastructure-as-Code experience.

Experience supporting CI/CD environments using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or Jenkins.

Scripting skills using Python, Bash or PowerShell.

A bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Additional Experience That Would Be Valuable

AWS or Microsoft Azure certifications.

Experience supporting multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.

Knowledge of zero-trust security, private networking and network segmentation.

Experience with AWS CDK, Terraform or CloudFormation.

Familiarity with CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus or similar monitoring platforms.
