Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Scheduling
Develop, manage, and regularly update detailed construction programs using MS Project or equivalent scheduling software, ensuring progress is accurately reflected throughout the project lifecycle.
Establish and maintain comprehensive resource plans covering labour, equipment, plant, and materials to support successful program delivery.
Identify critical path activities, monitor potential delays, and proactively implement mitigation strategies to minimise project risks and impacts.
Prepare and distribute weekly project progress reports for the Operations Director and senior leadership team, including schedule performance, financial status, risks, and key project issues.
Coordinate design development, engineering deliverables, and drawing release schedules with EPC design partners to ensure IFC documentation is available in line with construction requirements.
2. Cost Control & Financial Management
Monitor and control project expenditure against approved budgets across Tranexs cost structure, including labour, subcontractors, materials, plant, and project overheads.
Prepare accurate monthly Cost to Complete (C2C) forecasts, incorporating earned value analysis, cost trends, and financial performance reporting.
Manage project cash flow in collaboration with the Commercial Manager, ensuring timely milestone claims and maximising revenue recovery.
Identify, assess, and manage project variations through formal change control processes, ensuring all scope changes are accurately priced, approved, and incorporated into project forecasts.
Deliver projects in line with agreed revenue, cost, and margin objectives.
3. Contract & Commercial Administration
Manage head contracts and subcontract agreements in accordance with contractual requirements, including notices, RFIs, variations, claims, and extension of time submissions.
Maintain comprehensive records of contractual communications, meeting outcomes, site instructions, and project changes.
Identify and manage latent conditions, design modifications, and client or Superintendent decisions that may impact project cost, schedule, or delivery.
Work collaboratively with clients, Superintendents, and stakeholders to resolve issues early and minimise potential disputes.
Ensure all required permits, approvals, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and hold-point approvals are obtained prior to commencing relevant works.
4. Safety, Quality & Compliance
Promote a strong safety-first culture across all projects by actively supporting and enforcing Tranex Powers WHS Management System.
Lead and support toolbox meetings, site inspections, SWMS reviews, and incident investigations in accordance with company procedures.
Ensure all employees, subcontractors, and suppliers comply with site safety requirements, legislation, and client HSEQ expectations.
Manage delivery of the Project Quality Plan, including ITP completion, NCR resolution, and defect closeout processes.
Ensure all works comply with relevant AS/NZS standards, grid connection requirements, and applicable building codes.
5. Subcontractor & Supply Chain Management
Identify, engage, and manage specialist subcontractors across civil, structural, electrical, commissioning, and vegetation management disciplines.
