About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Rust Developer to join a growing technology team in Queensland, working on high-performance software solutions and scalable systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a developer with strong systems programming skills who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and building reliable, efficient applications.

You will collaborate with engineers and technical stakeholders to design, develop and optimise software used across modern technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-performance applications using Rust.
• Build reliable and scalable software components with a focus on efficiency and security.
• Develop and integrate APIs, backend services and system-level applications.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement effective optimisation strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

• To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Commercial experience developing software using Rust.
• Strong understanding of systems programming, memory safety and concurrency.
• Experience building backend services, APIs or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Git, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to work through complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within an engineering team.

Desirable experience:

• Experience with Linux and cloud-based environments.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes or microservices architectures.
• Knowledge of networking protocols, embedded systems or performance-critical applications.
