Senior Data Developer Azure & Microsoft Fabric Visa Sponsorship Available

Company

Pearson Carter is partnering with an established digital consultancy delivering Microsoft data, cloud and AI solutions. Youll combine hands-on development with client consulting, helping organisations turn complex data into practical business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead client discovery sessions and translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Design and build ETL/ELT pipelines, SQL solutions and data models across Azure and Microsoft Fabric.
• Develop Power BI reporting that supports clear, informed business decisions.
• Write production-quality code and contribute to architecture, estimation and presales.
• Mentor developers and help shape effective AI-assisted development practices.

Experience

Essential:

• Strong software and/or data development experience, ideally five years or more.
• A software engineering foundation, including building applications, APIs or services using Python, C# or JavaScript.
• Experience with Microsoft data platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics or Microsoft Fabric.
• Strong SQL, data modelling, ETL/ELT and Power BI skills.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Advantageous:

• Consulting experience, including workshops and managing client expectations.
• Git, CI/CD, infrastructure as code and test-driven development.
• Mentoring, presales or practical experience with AI-assisted development tools.

Strong intermediate developers with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.

Salary

Competitive salary depending on experience:

• Intermediate: NZD 90,000120,000
• Senior: NZD 120,000150,000

Location

Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand. Permanent, full-time position with a minimum of three days per week in the Hamilton office.
