Senior Data Engineer

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Data Developer to join a growing consultancy delivering modern data, cloud, software and AI solutions across a range of industries.

This is a client-facing role suited to an experienced software or data professional who combines strong technical capability with consulting skills. You will work directly with stakeholders to understand business challenges, design scalable data solutions, and deliver high-quality outcomes across the full project lifecycle.

The role offers the opportunity to contribute to modern data platform implementations, AI-enabled development practices, solution architecture, and strategic client engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead client workshops, discovery sessions and requirements gathering activities.
• Design and deliver scalable Microsoft-based data platforms and solutions.
• Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines, data models and data integration processes.
• Develop production-grade solutions using Python, C# or JavaScript.
• Create SQL-based solutions across modern cloud data environments.
• Design and develop Power BI reporting and visualisation solutions.
• Contribute to solution architecture, estimations, technical design and presales activities.
• Mentor and support junior and intermediate developers.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted and agentic development practices.
• Manage project scope, delivery risks and stakeholder expectations.
• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.

About You

Experience

• 5 years' experience in software development, data engineering or data platform delivery.
• Strong software engineering foundation prior to specialising in data.
• Experience building enterprise applications, APIs, services or software platforms.
• Client-facing consulting, vendor or professional services experience.
• Experience leading workshops, stakeholder discussions and solution design sessions.
• Proven ability to balance technical excellence with commercial and business outcomes.
